Hello ,
As promised, here's your child’s Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) checklist.
How does APD impact your child?
For some children they struggle to keep up in conversations, or follow verbal instructions at home and in the classroom. Others misunderstand what’s being said, don’t get the nuances in language and so on. APD can affect attention skills, reading proficiency, comprehension, learning and more.
The results for your child can vary from falling behind in school, to difficulties with making friends, to excessive tiredness after school and overall an increasing frustration socially and academically.
APD is a misunderstood issue. It can often be wrongly diagnosed as ADD/ADHD attention issues etc. A child can be labelled as “lacking motivation” or “difficult” or “disruptive” but the real reason may be poor auditory processing.
This checklist will help you to understand more about your child’s particular circumstances.
Please tell me how it impacts your child and I will respond to you with my thoughts on how you can help your child overcome their difficulty.
Regards!
