We will work with you and your child to set Reading Goals.

A great goal is Word Count Per Minute (WCPM) or how many words can your child read a minute.

In the above image the grade is on the left hand side and the WCPM on the right hand side.

By the middle of 5th grade with a WCPM of 144, students are reading fluently enough to understand and learn from text, so the goal shifts from reading faster to reading increasingly complex texts and vocabulary at that rate.

We will continually monitor your child's WCPM and send you weekly reports on progress.
